Product & Services Marketing Manager
 

Overview

This position will “own” the application security and compliance service lines from a classic service marketing perspective: packaging, positioning, and pricing. The Products & Service Marketing Manager will be responsible for market and customer research and will act as customer advocate internally, translating that intimate knowledge into powerful, high-impact strategies for reaching the target audience and enabling the sales team to sell effectively into it.

The  Products & Services Marketing Manager will pay careful attention to the application security market and develop key assets, programs and positioning statements for the company’s professional services and products. This position will be responsible for sales “enablement” and will drive the creation of all critical sales assets including presentation and positioning content, user case studies, market research, and packaging. This position works closely with customers, partners, sales, marketing, and other internal groups to identify customer requirements, determine optimal packaging and feature set, and generate ongoing appeal and demand for the company’s products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis with the goal of developing a messaging and products/services strategy
  • Leads SWOT, Market and customer Requirements Document development
  • Writes, proofreads, and edits copy to be used in company publications, collateral, articles, etc.
  • Conducts Sales Training and routinely advises sales team on any relevant service offering concerns or market shifts
  • Determines optimal pricing, packaging and feature management
  • Creates demos and/or simulations of the company’s solutions that allow customers to evaluate or get a feel for the quality of the offering before buying
  • Recommends changes to current service offerings based on market research and new trend
  • Organizes customer focus groups and user groups to trial and validate packaging, positioning, and gain deeper understanding of buyer and market needs
  • Creates and manages customer-facing events like roundtables, seminars, etc.
  • Generates the assets needed for company publications and collateral including key messages, imagery and data points
  • Assists with events, trade shows, collateral development and marketing campaigns/programs
  • Evaluates services performance to help develop and update company goals and objectives
  • Develops collateral strategy for the product and service lines

Qualifications

  • B.A in Business or related field
  • Five years as a product or service marketing manager or service in the software industry
  • Proven experience in planning and executing strategic and tactical marketing programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize and deliver information in a concise manner
  • Market research experience
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Light domestic and international travel expected
  • Professional services and IT security experience a plus
