VP of Marketing
 

Overview
Oversee all marketing activities for Security Innovation’s products and services. Develop market strategies, evaluate market conditions and recommend program and solution changes to maximum sales activity. Define and position company’s solutions, including messaging, packaging, and value proposition. Carry out product and services planning activity, conduct market analysis, identify target market/prospects, and help develop delivery channels – direct, partner, and e-commerce. Define market penetration strategy and lead direct marketing execution team on lead generation and program execution.

Provide leadership and coordination of company marketing functions and staff. Monitor and analyze sales and marketing activity against goals with the purpose of optimizing marketing spend, refining target markets, and maximizing effect of various marketing programs. Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering Operations to understand and improve current product and consulting solutions, and help define and position new solutions as dictated by market trends and client demand.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead and refine the company’s Positioning, Market Penetration, Strategic Partnership, and Thought Leadership initiatives.

  • Direct and oversee the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services and grow existing accounts.
  • Conduct primary market analysis to identify target markets, understand the needs and buying habits of the target audience, and map company capabilities to those needs. Identify gaps in company solution offering, based on market analysis.
  • Properly position and package company solutions so they are compelling and attractive to the target market(s).Devise promotion strategy for company’s solutions to reach target market, and work with existing staff to execute on that strategy.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing methods, costs, and results.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, and oversee the development and management of marketing metrics that demonstrate effectiveness of marketing spend. Conduct closed-loop marketing program analysis from lead creation through to closure.
  • Work closely with sales team to manage and develop major client accounts via creative intra-company marketing, and participate in the development of new project proposals and solution programs.
  • Supervise the planning, development, and execution of company marketing and communications materials as well as public relations and corporate branding efforts
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company.
  • Promote positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Manage strategic marketing partnerships with the intent of getting immediate access to more customers via partner channels and programs,
  • Build a robust thought leadership practice. Define and create the programs and assets needed to position the company as trusted independent thought leaders in the application security space, leveraging the company’s considerable talent pool and existing staff and intelligence pieces.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of structuring and measuring marketing goals and metrics.
  • Experience in planning market analysis and marketing strategies.
  • Experience building marketing programs for direct, Internet, and partner channel sales efforts.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, management and presentation skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate corporate strategy and planning meetings.
  • Self-motivated market analyst, who has built marketing strategies and effectively planned and executed marketing programs and strategic initiatives.
  • 5+ years experience in marketing planning and execution for a small organization (less than $50M in revenue)
  • 5+ years experience in a marketing leadership role for company with combination of high tech products and services. Experience in the software and/or security markets strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years managing marketing programs for high tech consulting organization
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position
  • Bachelor Degree required. Masters Degree and/or MBA strongly preferred.
