Security Development Engineer

Reports to: Director of Security Services
Location: Wilmington, MA
Position Overview: Join a fast-paced exciting team on the cutting edge of application security. Surround yourself with other security experts as you put your development skills to use writing tools focused on detecting security vulnerabilities in our customer’s applications. Participate in security-focused code reviews designed to expose critical defects in customer code. Conduct research into the latest attack techniques used by hackers to break into our customer’s systems.

Specific Responsibilities:

Understand requirements, objectives and design for new tool development
Implementation specification for tool development
Develop security tool features and improvements
Determine root cause and fix bugs in security tool features
Thorough understanding of how testers perform penetration testing through a UI, API or over a network
Understanding of how to perform manual and automated code analysis
Research and whitepaper creation on relevant security topicss

Requirements & Qualifications:

Strong development and debugging skills
Strong knowledge of design, development and testing techniques
Programming experience on the Windows platform (XP, NT, Win2K etc.) as well as Linux and Unix variants
Knowledge of a variety of programming languages (C/C++, Java/J2EE, .NET) a plus
Networking background (sockets, http programming, etc) a plus
Knowledge of specific attack types and common security bug categories is a plus
Technical writing experience a plus
B.S. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
