SECURITY INNOVATION AND RSA CONFERENCE 2008 PRESENT
NEW “SECURITY SMACKDOWN” PROGRAM
Attendees Go Head-to-Head To Test Their Security Knowledge Through Interactive Learning
Wilmington, MA - March 31, 2008 -
Security Innovation (www.securityinnovation.com), the authority on
application security and leading independent provider of risk
assessment, risk mitigation and training services, and RSAŽ Conference,
the world’s leading information security conference and exposition
group, will debut their new interactive learning experience, “Security
Smackdown,” during RSA Conference 2008, which will be held April 7-11 at
San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center.
The ultimate interactive learning experience, the Security Smackdown is
designed to help security professionals of varying skill levels assess
their knowledge and expertise in security through live demonstrations
and simulated Web site vulnerability testing.
Open to all conference attendees, participants in the Security Smackdown
will test their skills and knowledge in uncovering common and obscure
security vulnerabilities in Web sites built specifically for the
challenge. Twice daily, Ed Adams, president and CEO of Security
Innovation, will pose questions to the audience to test their security
knowledge for the Security Smackdown Undercard.
During the Security Smackdown Grand Finale, three security industry
experts, John Stewart, vice president and CSO of CISCO Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
CSCO), Mary Ann Davidson, CSO of Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL), and Charles
Kolodgy, research director, Security Products, IDC, will face off on the
hottest, most controversial topics in information security.

“The Security Smackdown program is a refreshing way to offer a practical
look at security,” said Sandra Toms LaPedis, general manager and area
vice president, RSA Conference. “These interactive, challenges provide
participants insight into the vulnerability types found in Web
applications, and an appreciation of the difficulty in building secure
applications and processes.”
“At Security Innovation we have found that it is crucial to address
security education topics in a fun and engaging manner so the lessons
are retained. The RSA Conference 2008 Security Smackdown will bring to
light the complex challenges in information and data security.
Participants will be able to take this experience back to their
organizations with heightened security awareness,” said Ed Adams,
president and CEO of Security Innovation. “This kind of event adds
excitement and tremendous value to not only the participants but also to
