SECURITY INNOVATION VICE PRESIDENT TO DISCUSS SOFTWARE SECURITY
AT SOFTWARE BUSINESS 2006 CONFERENCE

Wilmington, MA - October 18, 2006  - Security Innovation, the independent authority on application security assessment, education and risk mitigation, today announced that its Vice President of Strategy Pete Jenney will deliver “How to Break Software Security” at the Software Business 2006 Conference in Denver. With IT security problems impacting the corporate world at the rate of once a week per company, Jenney’s presentation will arm software executives and IT security staff with guidance on how to proactively recognize and fix vulnerabilities in their software.

Software Business 2006 is geared toward helping software company executives make strategic business, financial and technology decisions. Having conducted security assessments for many of today’s largest software vendors, Security Innovation is uniquely positioned to comment on the vulnerabilities most often found in applications. In his presentation Jenney will discuss tools and techniques that vendors can employ to help uncover security problems within their software before those applications are deployed and vulnerable. He will introduce a fault model for security testers to conceptualize the types of bugs they are likely to find in security testing, and lead the audience through a set of proven software attacks that have been effective at exposing security bugs.

Wednesday, October 18, 2006, 11:40 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.
Who: Pete Jenney, vice president of strategy, Security Innovation, Inc.
What: “How to Break Software Security”
Where: Software Business 2006 Conference, Hyatt Regency Tech Center, Denver
URL: http://www.softwarebusinessonline.com/sb_conf2006_program.htm

“For software companies, it is exponentially more expensive to fix vulnerabilities found post-development than it would have been to prevent flaws during development,” said Jenney. “To design, build, and deploy secure applications, software companies must integrate security into every facet of their application development life cycle. These companies want to ensure that their software testers and developers attain the specialized knowledge, insight and intuition needed to find and recognize security vulnerabilities. This presentation will help improve their skills for the benefit of their companies and their customers.”
