Security Innovation Names Dr. Herbert Thompson
as
Chief Security Strategist
Wilmington, Mass.—April 29, 2005—Security
Innovation, the independent industry leader in application security
testing, research and training, today announced that Director of
Security Technology & Research Dr. Herbert Thompson has been
promoted to the position of Chief Security Strategist. In his new
position, Dr. Thompson will be responsible for managing and evolving
the company’s application testing and training services and
technology to meet the needs of Security Innovation’s growing
customer base.
“Through his ground-breaking research and technical vision, Hugh has
played a key role in the success and growth of Security Innovation
over the past several years,” said Ed Adams, CEO of Security

Dr. Herbert Thompson is an internationally renowned expert in
application security testing, research and training. He was Security
Innovation’s second employee, joining Founder Dr. James Whittaker in
2002. Dr. Thompson earned his PhD in Applied Mathematics from
Florida Institute of Technology and is co-author or editor of 12
books, including “How to Break Software Security: Effective
Techniques for Security Testing.” Dr. Thompson has authored more
than 50 academic and industrial articles on software security.
