Senior IT Lead

Location: Seattle, WA or Wilmington, MA

Security Innovation is looking for a Senior IT Lead to help manage, maintain and improve our network infrastructure. Like many technology companies, we've grown quite a bit over the last few years and being experts in technology and performing network security and architecture assessments ourselves, we've been able to build and maintain a great network that we can stand behind (literally). However, we're taking the next step in organizational maturity in hiring a full time dedicated Senior IT Lead to maintain our existing network and to roll out key initiatives such as improved MFA, VPN, and Backup solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as the company’s primary IT lead reporting to our Director of IT and Compliance
  • Help research and deploy infrastructure and IT solutions such as:
    • Network Infrastructure to include:
      • Firewalls and Switches
      • MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)
      • VPN (Client and Site to Site)
    • ESXI and Virtualization Management
    • Amazon (AWS) - Virtual Machine Management and Migration
    • Backup solutions
  • Assist in creating long term IT strategies that efficiently utilize SI's IT resources and budget.
  • Work with the Director of IT and Compliance to develop IT budgets and spending forecasts to be provided to the COO.
  • Improve and maintain our network and architecture in areas such as backups, MFA, VPN, and security. Manage on-premise and cloud-based network, workstation, file sharing, VoIP, and applications systems.
  • Develop and execute on a strategy to migrate on-premise resources to cloud hosting where appropriate.
  • Respond to product security vulnerability disclosures with the team’s support.
  • Interface with abuse reports or other external inquiries regarding our networks.
  • Be responsible for the availability and security of all of Security Innovation's infrastructure, both internal facing for our employees, as well as public and customer facing systems.
  • Ensure that all aspects of SI's IT and networking infrastructure are properly documented.
  • Interface with outside equipment vendors for procurement and warranty issues.
  • Interface with outside service providers.
  • Assist in achieving or maintain compliance with a number of certifications and regulations including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR.


  • 3+ years of IT operations/engineering experience

Technical Qualifications

  • Intermediate to Expert Experience in the following areas:
    • Systems Administration
      • Microsoft NPS, Active Directory Administration, including multi-site replication
      • Window and MacOS Systems Administration
      • Linux and FreeBSD Systems Administration
      • AWS, Azure Cloud Engineering
      • Endpoint fleet management
    • Network Administration
      • pfSense Firewall Administration
      • IPSec, BGP, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, 802.11/Wifi, 802.1q/VLANs, Ethernet including 10gbE, Fiber
      • HP Procurve/Aruba Network Switch Systems
      • Ubiquiti Unifi SDN and WIFI Systems
      • VOIP, SAML, x509/PKI/TLS understanding
  • Architecture, design, implementation, and troubleshooting/debugging
  • Project management experience as it relates to larger IT projects
  • Excellent at managing numerous simultaneous projects and various deadlines/deliverables
  • Experience supporting both local and remote offices and employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Preferred: Background in Network/Software Security Architecture and Design
  • Preferred: Background in Computer Incident Response and Network/Server Forensics
