COD 317: Creating Secure iPhone Code in Objective-C
This course examines in depth the development of secure iOS applications for Apple’s iPad and iPhone devices. It provides an overview of common iOS application vulnerabilities and presents secure coding best practices using Xcode with Objective-C. Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to identify and mitigate malicious user input, risks to data while backgrounding, threats to privacy and confidentiality, sensitive data exposure, insufficient transport layer protection, and custom URL scheme abuses. The course includes Knowledge Checks, Module Summaries, and links to additional online resources.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to identify common iOS application threats including:
- Malicious user input
- Local storage sensitive data exposure
- Backgrounding snapshot information disclosure
- Privacy violation - disclosing a user’s geolocation
- Insufficient transport layer protection
- Custom URL scheme abuse
- Logging sensitive data
