Security Innovation's Lisa Parcella Elected to Management Team of Women in Security and Privacy | Security Innovation
Wilmington, MA – July 13, 2018 – Security Innovation, a pioneer in software security assessment and training, today announced that Lisa Parcella, the company’s Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, has been elected to the management team of Women in Security and Privacy (WISP). Parcella will lead the industry organization’s marketing, social media and public relations efforts in support of WISP’s work to advance women to lead the future of privacy and security. This move further strengthens Security Innovation’s longstanding commitment to opening and expanding career opportunities for women in the technology arena.
In addition to being a corporate sponsor of WISP, Security Innovation has partnered with the non-profit to provide CMD+CTRL cyber range training at its conferences. The next training will take place on Tuesday, July 17 in San Francisco. CMD+CTRL is the only cyber range focused exclusively on Web application security. Attendees of the WISP event on the 17th will gain a deeper understanding of how cyber-attackers find and exploit vulnerabilities in insecure software applications.

WISP’s activities cover five important areas:
- Education: Help women identify and achieve the level of education and skills required to succeed in security and privacy positions across multiple industries.
- Mentoring & Networking: Foster a community for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, mentorship, and networking.
- Advancement – the vulnerabilities of Insecure Network Services within the context of the IoT devices, and best practices to protect network services on IoT devices;
- Insecure Communications – understanding the risks of insecure communications;
- Insecure Mobile Interface – best practices for protecting mobile applications used for IoT solutions; and
- Insecure Software/Firmware – how to securely distribute updates that fix known vulnerabilities in software or firmware for IoT devices.
